BENGALURU: Bengaluru’s putting its fashionable foot forward today, as 44 aspiring girls and boys from the city gear up for the Indulge Mega Model Hunt 2017, which is initiated by Prasad Bidapa Associates and presented by VR Bengaluru.

These young models have been undergoing a gruelling training session this last month under the guidance of Prasad, and are all set for the finale.

The training programme, as former model Zoheb Yusef who is head of Prasad Bidappa Model Management, calls it, acts as a stepping stone for those wanting to make it in the fashion industry.

“We’ve had various trainers such as Kevin Oliver (show director), David Whitbread (stylist), Judith Bidapa (who did a theatre workshop with them), Beena Sondhi (makeup artist) and Prasad Bidapa himself,” says Zoheb.

He adds that the models are all geared up and ready for the finale today. The judges this year include Kannada film actress Ragini Trivedi, Miss Diva 2016 Roshmitha Harimurthy, founder of production house MV Productions Mubina Vaziralli and model Arry Dabas.

“The event will start with an introductory dance, followed by solo introductions on which they will be judged. There will be 12 winners in different categories, such as TV, Kannada film industry, runway, print and more,” says Zoheb.

Talking about the show, Prasad says that he thinks its going to be a “vintage” year, adding that the participants this year are fantastic and that he can see them dominate the industry in the years to come.

Talking about the talent pool from Bengaluru, Zoheb says, “The city has always produced the best... from Deepika Padukone and Anushka Sharma to Dino Morea. There’s so much talent here, I don’t know what is in our water here.”

The finale is taking place at The Waverly, VR Bengaluru in Whitefield today.
